90年代には、日本のCMでも流れていたそうですが、
この曲ご存じの方はどれくらいいらっしゃるのでしょうか。
Qantas航空の国際線を利用すると、目的地に着いたときに流れることがあるそうですが、
私は２度しか聞いたことがありません。
でも、この曲、「まさにオーストラリア！」って感じがします。
オーストラリアの精神というのか、
オーストラリアがぎゅっと凝縮されて言葉になったような感じがします。
去年の今頃、
帰国日が決まって、引っ越し作業や家具の整理などでせわしない毎日を送っていました。
もう１年が経とうとしているんですね（早い～！）
帰国してから数日間は、
オーストラリアでの生活習慣が残っていたのですが
（エレベーターでGボタンを探す、信号でボタンを押そうとする、土曜日になると、ハリスファームマーケットで何を買おうか考える、etc.）
今では遠い昔のような感覚です。
次にオーストラリアにはいつ行けるのかな。
しばらくは、ブログでオーストラリアでの思い出に浸りたいと思います…。
オーストラリアではたくさんの思い出ができ、素敵な人ともたくさん出会いました。
そんなオーストラリア、
今でも、そしてこれからも、

追伸。この歌詞の２行目、「Rio」の所、何度聞いても「Rome」にしか聞こえないのは私だけでしょうか？

I heard that there was a TV commercial with this song in the 90s.
Anyone knows this song?
When you fly overseas with the Qantas Airline, you could hear this song when you arrive at the destination.
I flew several times with Qantas, but I heard this song only twice.
When I heard this song for the first time, I instantly thought,
“Wow, this is all about Australia!”
I think this song tells you everything about Australia in a compressed way.
I mean, the spirits of Australia.
Around this time of last year, we had very busy time with moving and selling furniture.
It has been a year since then….time flies!!
For a few days after I came back home, I tended to do what I had done in Australia, such as trying to press “G” button in the lift (but there is no “G” button in Japan), trying to press a button of traffic light (but in Japan you don’t have to press the button, usually), and thinking of what I should buy at Harris Farm market on the weekend….
But now these things seem to be a long time ago.
I wonder when I will visit Australia again.
For the time being, I would like to muse over past memories about Australia by writing this blog.
In Australia, I got lots of precious memories and met many wonderful people.
This is the Australia to me.
I still call, and will keep calling Australia “home”.
P.S. The word “Rio” in the 2nd line from the top, sounds like “Rome”, but is it only me….?
