My work 19 ~My world~

「花便り」
 
今回の作品は、これと言って、何を彫った、というのではなく、
いわゆる創作です（笑）。
真ん中のは、どちらかというと、技の練習のためのもので、
バラがそれに花を添えるという感じに仕上げています。
 
使ったナイフは１本と彫刻刀１本。
所要時間は2.5時間でした。
割と簡単に彫れますが、
彫りながら自分の手で作品を壊しやすい・・・というのが難点です。

 “A Letter of Flowers”
 
Frankly speaking, I did not carve anything specific this time.
Let me call it my imaginary world reflecting on works :).
 
The centre one is for practicing some techniques, so not a specific flower.
I carved two roses on the sides to make it look a bit gorgeous.
 
One knife and one carver were used for this work.
It took me about 2.5 hours.
This work is rather easy unless you break the petals while carving.

My work 18~Crane~

「鶴に願いを」
 
ちょっと志向を変えて、
今回は動物にチャレンジ。
 
お花のカービングは
いろいろな技が必要となるので豪華で美しく、
それゆえ、人気があります。
一方、動物の方は、いまいち華やかさに欠け、
技も結構単調なので、
あんまり彫る人はいないみたいです。
確かに、動物はお花に比べると強弱がつけにくいです。
 
みなさんはどう思われますか？
 
今日は広島原爆投下記念日。
亡くなった方への鎮魂の祈りと、
未来の平和を祈って…。
鶴さん、願いを届けて！

 “Smile and Peace” 

I tried something new this time.

I carved an animal – crane- this time.

Since carving flowers requires various techniques, they look gorgeous, therefore very popular.
On the other hand, animal carvings do not present gorgeousness with rather simple techniques.
So not many people seem to prefer carving them.
To be honest, for me, carving animals are difficult to emphasis things on soaps compared to flowers.

It is the memorial day today, August 6^th, to commemorate the dropping of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945.
Honouring the victims of the atomic bombings and wishing for world peace…
Hoping that this crane will bring a peace of mind to someone who sees my work…!
