「色づく季節」
花の女王、バラ。
バラを彫りたいがために、カービングを始める人もいます。かく言う私も、バラが大好き！
私の結婚式のテーマはバラで、ローズガーデンのある式場を選んだくらい、バラ好きです。
バラは（日本では）今頃の時期から咲き始め、
夏は暑さのためにいったんお休みしますが、
また秋になると上品な香りを放ってくれます。
バラは、昔から、繁栄と愛の象徴と言われてきました。
バラにまつわる伝説はいろいろあり、
愛と美の女神アフロディーテの象徴としてバラの花が作られたり、
ギリシャ時代は、ビーナスと結びついて、バラ＝愛と歓びと美と純潔の象徴になったり。
また、現代にも、バラはいろいろな意味を持ちます。
例えば、イギリス王室の紋章（チュードル・ローズ）は、
14世紀のバラ戦争の後に、ランカスター家とヨーク家が結ばれたことをきっかけに
赤バラと白バラを合わせて紋章になりました。
ローマでは、一輪のバラを天井につるし、
その下で話をすると、その内容は一切秘密にする、という慣習があり、“under the rose”というイディオムがあります。
バラは、イギリス、ルーマニア、ブルガリア、ポルトガルなどの国花になっている他、
日本でも、茨城県の県花になっています。アロマにも、美容効果を狙ってバラを取り入れたいのですが、
何と言っても、バラのエッセンシャルオイルは高い！
5mLで5000円は下らない。
それでも、
バラの香りのする石鹸にバラの彫刻を施すのが、
私のささやかな夢です。
バラの花言葉は、
「私はあなたにふさわしい（！）、愛嬌、新鮮、あなたは私を愛する、美、愛情、さわやか、無邪気」などだそうです。
今は春まっさかり。
木々や花々が芽吹いて、街を明るく彩ってくれています。
この作品は２月頃のものですが、
そろそろみなさまにご挨拶をしたがっているので
石鹸の香りが豊かなうちに、ご紹介させていただきます！
つぼみたくさんのバラです。
使ったナイフは１本、
所要時間は４時間でした（つぼみにかかりすぎました…）。

“The Season with Colours and Tastes”
Some people do carving only because they want
to carve roses. Roses are the most popular flowers to be carved with lots of
varieties. I made these 2 months ago, but I guess this is the right time for
them to say hello to you!
This is my first work of a rose with buds,
wishing spring blessing you all :)
A rose -- the queen of flowers.
Some people start carving only because they want to do roses.
And I do love roses too!
I love roses so that I had our wedding at a place where there is a rose garden and the theme of my wedding was, of course, roses!
In Japan, roses start blooming around this time
of year.
During summer, they have a short nap to escape
from heats, but they return in autumn and bring us its beautiful scent and views.From ancient times, roses are said to be a symbol of prosperity and love.
There are lots of myths about roses, such as:
Roses were created as a symbol of Aphrodite (Venus.)
In Ancient Greece, roses were related to Venus, and became a symbol of love, joy, beauty, and purity.
Also nowadays roses have different meanings.
For example, the Tudor rose, the traditional floral heraldic emblem of England, became one after the Wars of the Roses in the 14th century.
In Rome, when they talk something very private, they put a rose on the ceiling and what they talk “under the rose” will be kept secret.
Roses are the national flowers in England, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, etc.
Also in Japan, Ibaraki has roses for its prefectural
flower.
I would like to have roses in my aroma blend because roses have high effects on beauty.
However, rose essential oils are very expensive, like more (or less) than 5,000 yen for 5mL.
Having said that, it is one of my dreams that I carve a rose on a soap that has rose scent!
The flower language of flowers is
“I am the one for you (!), lovableness, fresh,
you love me, beauty, love, innocence,” etc.It is now spring in its full bloom.
Lots of trees and flowers colour here and there, giving us cheerful and inspiring sceneries.
This work was made in February, but I thought
it was a bit early for roses to come up.
But they cannot wait to say hello to the world
any more. So let me introduce my work while they have nice scent.
One knife was used.
I spent almost 4 hours since I spent too much
time on the buds….
