My work 10 ~ Lotus~

“Sacred Heart”

This is one of the most popular soap carving works, a lotus.
The flower language of lotuses is “eloquence”, “rest”, “pure heart”, and “love going away”.

Lotus is closely connected with Buddhism consciousness and art, and often found on Buddha statues.
It is said that a lotus is the flower bloomed by the first footsteps of Buddha when he was born (does my English make sense?)
And Buddha stood on the lotus and said “Each of us is all valuable.”
In India I heard that the shape of a lotus represents heaven.
Also in ancient Egypt a lotus is considered a sacred flower and you can see it as a motif in unearthed articles from the graveyard of Tut Ankh Amon.
In addition, some southeastern Asian countries have a lotus as its national flower.

I learn about flowers little by little through aromatherapy and soap carving.

This lotus is carved on a soap made in Thailand (!!! Yay!!!).
It is so expensive (mostly transportation fee lol) to buy Thai soaps in Japan, but it is really easy and unbelievably comfortable carving on.

Thanks to the soap with glaze (gloss), you can see how beautiful my work is! (LOL)

I used one knife, and it took me about 2 hours to complete.

P.S. I am not sure if my English makes sense…

  1. Very good sense in the writing, and really beautiful artwork...
The lotus flower is also a fine image of the chakras, or the subtle centers in our spiritual body...
And the rose of Love shines brightly through your so artistic and gentle hands and soul...

Thank you so much for your words.
    It really encourages me!!
However, I have to admit that my fingerprints are changing because I had my fingers cut with a knife during carving....! My hands and fingures are not beautiful :(
Anyway, I appreciate you take your time to read my article!!
