今、北半球は一年で一番寒い時期となりました。
まだまだ寒さもこれからです。
東京では、乾燥注意報が引き続き発令されています。
それにより、お肌の荒れやインフルエンザの蔓延が懸念されています。
そこで、今日はおすすめの風邪予防レシピです。
お風呂に入るときに、ちょっと入れてみてください。
もちろん、十分な栄養や睡眠、手洗いうがいなどもお忘れなく！

A blend for bath time for prevention of cold
Example)
Eucalyptus 1 drop
Rosemary 1 drop
Lavender 2 drops
Across the northern hemisphere, it is the coldest time of year.
More cold days are ahead of us.
In Tokyo, dry air advisory had been issued for over a month.
Therefore, many people have been concerned with care for skins and spread of flu.
So, today, here is the recipe for prevention of cold.
Put these oils when you take a bath.
Nonetheless, have some good sleep and diet as well as hand-wash and gargle.

アロマレシピ⑧～Aroma recipe 8~
ツヤ出しヘアオイル（30mL）
例）
レモン ３滴
パルマローザ ３滴
ホホバオイル 30mL
洗髪前の乾いた髪の毛につけて地肌をマッサージ。
すすいだ後、シャンプー・コンディショナー/リンスをします。
根元が細くなってきた髪の毛に、ハリが出てきた気がします。
レモンとパルマローザの組み合わせもよくて、すっきり感があります。

Oil for glossy and healthy hair (30mL)
Example)
Lemon 3 drops
Palmarosa 3 drops
Jojoba oil 30 mL
Put this mixture of oils before cleaning and massage your head.

I think it has been giving me glossy and healthy hair.
And I like the mixture of lemon and palmarosa!

My work 7 ~A Dragon Returns~
「翔龍」
前回は、「彩龍」という名前で作品をご紹介しましたが、
実は、今年は飛躍の年と願って、「翔龍」としたかったのです。
ところがどっこい、
彫ってみたら、「歩いている龍」、
それか、「大きめの蛇」、
もしくは、「動かないワニ」（笑）にしか見えなくて、
とても飛躍しているようには見えない…。
ということで、今回は、活躍できそうな龍を表現してみました。
と言っても、やっぱり、なんだか穏やかだな。
もっとかっこいい、それこそ、「龍伝説」に登場しそうな、
キレのある、少し怖さもある龍にしたかったのに。
でも、前よりは、少し、天に向かって進んでいるように見えません？？
念のため、龍に見えるように、「龍」と彫りました。サブリミナル効果を狙って（笑）。
デザインから完成まで３時間弱です。
意外と難しい。
まだまだ改善の余地大あり。
ナイフ１本と彫刻刀１本を使っております。

“A Leaping Dragon”
A happy new year to those who are celebrating Chinese new year!
Previously, I carved dragons named “彩龍 (sairyuu)”, but actually, I wanted to make it “翔龍 (shouryuu)” for praying this year to take a leap forward.
However, after carving them, my works looked like “a dragon walking”, or “a relatively big snake”, or, perhaps “a crocodile that does not move,” and no one could see it as a significant leap forward.
Therefore, this time, I tried to carve a dragon that look leaps and bounces (even if it does not look like it, at least I tried.)
Well, it is still a quiet one (I mean “unanimated”).
I truly wanted to create a dragon that looks cooler with dignity but also with a bit of impression of fear.
But I guess it looks (slightly) like moving upward (flying to the sky), does not it?
Just in case, again, I carved “龍 (dragon)” next to it so that people can see it as a dragon.
From design to completion, it took me more or less 3 hours.
It was unexpectedly difficult.
There is A LOT to improve.
I used 1 knife and 1 graver.
The name of this work: “翔龍”, meaning (hoping) a dragon that jump beyond (I mean it in a good way).
I hope you like it!

ゴミ箱の臭い消し
例）
ペパーミント ２滴
ティーツリー ２滴
ゴミ箱に新聞紙を敷いて、その上に、ペパーミントとティーツリーのオイルをかけるだけ！
生臭さがなくなります。
私は、ゴミ箱にはビニールを入れて、その中にゴミを捨てているのですが、
そのビニールを取り出すとき、すっとミントの臭いが漂い、ゴミ捨てが楽しくなります（笑）。
１週間は香りが持続します。

Example)

Place a piece of newspaper at the bottom of the bin and put those oils.
That’s it!
And you can prevent fishy smells in the bin.
I usually put a plastic bag in the bin, and when I take it off from the bin, the scent of the oils float in the air and makes me feel fresh.
The scent can stay approximately 1 week.

My work 6 ~Another Dragon~
「タツノオトシゴ」
なんで、日本は、十二支の５番目は、「龍」と「タツノオトシゴ」があるんだろう。
龍は伝説の生き物、
タツノオトシゴは実在の生き物。
一方、中国では、十二支の５番目は、龍と言ったら龍。
でも、龍に関するイベントをすると、
あまりにも過熱して暴動騒ぎが起こりかねないということで、
龍のイベントはあんまりないんだとか。
それはさておき、
今回の作品は、タツノオトシゴ。
これもナイフ１本で作っています。
３Dにするのは、なかなか難しいです。
細かいところが、時間が経つにつれてどんどん取れやすくなってきてしまうのです。
立体的にするために、最後につけた角は、
ボンドでつけたのですが、
時間が経つと石鹸の表面が乾いてしまって、
なかなかその状態をキープするのが難しいのです。
作業は、一気に仕上げてしまう方が、石鹸のためにも、
美しい作品作りのためにも良さそうです。
ちなみに、今回の作品は３時間ほどかかりました。

"Sean Horse"
I wonder why in Japan the 5th of the Chinese Zodiac is either “a dragon” or “a sea horse.”
A dragon is a legendary creature whereas a sea horse actually exists on Earth.
On the other hand, in China, when it comes to the 5th of the twelve horary signs, it is always a dragon.
Anyway, this work is a sea horse, which was created with a knife.
It is really hard to make it 3D.
The surface of soap gets drier as time goes by, and small tiny things that I carved tend to come off the soap, so I have to be quick.
I added the horn to make it look stereoscopic.
I put it with an adhesion bond, but after 3 hours of carving, it became drier (even 2 hours though!) and was easy to come off.
It seems to be good to finish at once, both for soap and for completion of a beautiful work.

My work 5 ~Flowers~
「花のささやき」
ご紹介する順番がめちゃくちゃですが、
実は、これは私の３作目です。
一つの石鹸から２つも作れる、
お得な（？）作品！
（でも、達人は４つも作れるらしい！！！！）
石鹸さえ手に入れば、
色とりどりの花ができて、色鮮やかになります。
一つのお花に費やした時間は１時間弱です。
裏表両方に違う模様を彫るので、写真で見るより、ほんの少し時間がかかりますが、
ナイフ１本でできます。
ところで、何の花かというと、
菊
ともいえるし、
マーガレットとも言える。
もしかすると、ほかのものにも見えるかも！？
見る人の価値観、想像力、経験によって、見方が変わる。
これこそ、アートの世界ですね！

If you can find soap that is suitable for carving, there may be flowers with various kinds of colours.
I spent 1 hours or less to make one flower.
You cannot see it, but I carved different pattern on each side, so it takes a little more than you imagine.
Only one knife was used.
By the way, what is this flower?

But also I can say marguerite
Perhaps you see it as something different.
Well, how you think of works leave up to your concept of values, imagination, and experience.
That’s art, isn’t it?

My work 4 ~The Year of Dragon~
「彩龍」
あけましておめでとうございます！
今年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
去年は、私の大好きなうさぎ年であったにも関わらず、
人間的に跳躍することができず、
むしろ、後ろ向きに突っ走ってしまった感のある１年でした。。。
自分がやりたいこと、
自分がすべきこと、
自分にできること。
やっと、その見分けがついてきたような気がします。
新しい年、
新しい風に抱かれて
SMILE AGAIN!!
ふと思いついて、龍をカービングしてみました。
うーん。
デザインとカービング、両方自分でやったので、
なんだかダサイですが、
まあ、可愛いでしょう？（笑）
彫刻刀２本とナイフ１本を使いました。
デザイン→下書き→彫刻（→仕上げ）
を入れると、４時間くらいかかりました。
彫るほどに難しくなっていくんですよ。
線１本１本に、実は細かい技を入れたのですが（それが却って粗さを増強？）
写真だとわかりづらいですね。
龍なんだか、ワニなんだか、蛇なんだかわからないので、
一応、「龍」と自ら名入れしました。
石鹸の色は、ピンク、オレンジ、グリーン、ホワイトの４色。
香りがそれぞれにあり、
また、
同じものを彫ろうとしたのにすべて少しずつ違った個性のある龍たち。
個々に可能性を秘めた龍、との勝手な都合のいい解釈をし（笑）、
「彩龍」と名付けました。

“Dragons of a Lot of Potential”
I hope all of you had a great start to the New Year wherever you are.
Last year which was my favourite one, a year of rabbits, but it was not good one for me.
I didn’t make any progress in my life.
What I want to do;
What I should do;
What I can do.
I think I am slowly getting to know those.
This year, 2012, blown in new winds, let me smile again!
I came up with an idea to carve a dragon (this year is the one!) on soap.
I designed and carved it.
Mmmmm….
It’s a bit uncool for a dragon, but isn’t it a friendly one?
I used 1 knife and 2 gravers.
It took me about 4 hours from design, draft, carving (, and finishing) it.
Actually, it got more difficult as I carved.
I added a very tiny yet fine technique to each line (which probably makes it look rough…), but it is hard to see in the picture.
Well, it is hard to tell if it is a dragon or a crocodile, or a snake (lol), so I carved the Chinese character “龍” (dragon), just in case.
The colours of the soaps are pink, orange, green, and white.
They smell different, and also these dragons came out to have different looks and characters even though I tried to carve the same way.
Dragons with different characters and tremendous potential, which I gave it a convenient interpretation (!!), and I named this work “彩龍.”
